E-MRS, i.e. European Materials Research Society

On September 16 and 17, we participated in the E-MRS conference in Warsaw. The E-MRS Fall Meeting is primarily a forum for presenting research and discussing the latest developments in the field of materials science.

The conference program included a variety of topics organized in 20 symposia, divided into 4 clusters covering the following areas: energy materials; electronics, photonics and spintronics, nanomaterials and functional materials and modeling.

Of particular interest to us was the panel that directly concerned chalcogenides (which include CIGS). Presented were, among others: effects of work on silver-doped CIGS layers and the idea of microconcentrators.

During the conference, we established cooperation with the Warsaw University of Technology in the field of research on CIGS cells with alternative buffer layers. Thanks to this cooperation, we will benefit from, among others: using PV cell measurement techniques that are unavailable in our laboratory.
