K2025, or “The Power of Plastic!”

K2025 is widely considered the world's largest plastics trade fair. For the photovoltaic industry, plastics are a crucial element in module production, so Roltec representatives were also present at the event, which takes place every three years in Düsseldorf.

Eighteen exhibition halls and outdoor areas showcased the work of over 3,200 exhibitors from 66 countries. The October trade fair, held under the slogan "The Power of Plastics! Green – Smart – Responsible," was visited by 175,000 people from 1,600 countries during the week.
K2025 was dominated by three key themes: "Shaping the Circular Economy," "Implementing Digitalization," and "Caring for People." Machinery and equipment manufacturers showcased impressive progress in combining efficiency, precision, and resource efficiency in state-of-the-art production systems. The raw materials and auxiliary materials segment also showcased innovative materials of the future: from bio-based materials and recycled compounds to new additives that combine functionality with sustainability, exhibitors presented an impressive range of solutions for the development of future materials.

"Plastics have been – and will remain – the most important material of our time. They combine lightweight construction, usability, energy efficiency, and versatility, pioneering advances in numerous applications – from medical technology to mobility and energy supply. With improved recycling solutions and circular economy concepts, they will increasingly become the most sustainable material of our time."

Ulrich Reifenhäuser, Chairman of the K 2025 Exhibitors' Advisory Board.

The continuous development of photovoltaics is associated with a constant search for new solutions and materials used, for example, in the lamination process of solar modules. Nowhere else is the range of suppliers, for example, substrates for the lamination process, so broad and available in one place. At K2025, this is supported by inspiring expert lectures, panel discussions, and presentations. This gave Roltec engineering staff attending K2025 a unique opportunity to learn about a wide range of suppliers and establish new contacts in the R&D field. Finding new potential R&D partners opens up opportunities for greater customization of our products, which will translate into a future expansion of our product portfolio.
