PVD engineer

As a PVD Process Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising and optimizing technological processes related to the production of photovoltaic cells using the CIGS (Copper-Indium-Gallium-Selenide) method. Your tasks will include both launching modern production systems and monitoring the quality and parameters of processes related to the application of thin-film CIGS coatings, which are key in the production of photovoltaic cells.

Dedicated responsibilities:

  • Participation in the launch of a high-vacuum system for deposition of CIGS layers using the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) method,
  • Supervision of the CIGS layer application process and ongoing analysis of production process parameters,
  • Monitoring, controlling and optimizing process parameters during production in order to maintain the highest quality of manufactured cells,
  • Conducting pilot implementations of new processes on production lines,
  • Ensuring continuous monitoring of the status of system devices, identifying potential problems and solving them,
  • Operation of system peripheral devices, such as: devices for measuring layer thickness using optical and/or contact methods, XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) measurements, temperature measurements using a pyrometer, operation of a leak-tester,
  • Close cooperation with technicians and operators to ensure continuity and efficiency of production processes,
  • Regular reporting of quality results and system status to appropriate departments,
  • Searching for new technological solutions and innovations in the CIGS process,
  • Continuous development of the process and system, cooperation with other engineering and production departments of the company in order to introduce technological improvements.

Our requirements:

  • Higher technical education (physics, chemistry, materials engineering, optoelectronics, process engineering or related),
  • Practical knowledge of vacuum technology and vacuum systems,
  • Knowledge of issues related to the deposition of thin films,
  • Knowledge of the basics of photovoltaics and technologies related to the production of photovoltaic cells is desirable,
  • Knowledge of thin layer characterization techniques preferred
  • Very good communication and work organization,
  • Ability to work in a team, as well as demonstrate initiative and responsibility in carrying out assigned tasks,
  • English at a communicative level, enabling reading technical documentation and cooperation with an international team.
