One of Roltec's key partners, Singulus Technologies AG, will equip us with three new advanced vacuum sputtering systems. All systems will be operational at Roltec by 2025. Singulus Technologies AG is supporting Roltec in supplying the construction of a new CIGS thin-film solar module production facility in Wrocław. This collaboration is part of an EU-funded initiative aimed at strengthening the European renewable energy supply chain.

PVD sputtering systems are essential for depositing high-quality contact and buffer layers on glass substrates. Singulus Technologies offers dry, cadmium-free PVD processes with precise layer control, supporting the production of environmentally friendly and highly efficient CIGS solar modules.
Roltec currently focuses on CIGS thin-film technology. However, both companies are also developing capabilities in the development and implementation of tandem photovoltaic solutions.
Future Potential – Tandem PV
CIGS technology is ideal for integration into tandem photovoltaic structures because it can serve as a lower cell beneath a wide-bandgap upper cell. This combination has the potential to exceed the efficiency limits of single-junction devices, paving the way for the next generation of high-efficiency solar modules.
At Roltec, we are simultaneously conducting advanced work on tandem cells ( SITA , Hi-Bits ) within the European Horizon program.
